Simo Lazarov (b.1948) is Bulgaria's first composer, performer and promoter of electronic music. He has specialized in several European studios and founded and directed the first Bulgarian studio for Electronic music at the Bulgarian National Radio (1973 - 1999). He is PhD and professor on computer music. His researches are about using synthesis of timbres in algorithmic music compositions. Since 1977 he has been a lecturer on sound engineering and electronic and computer music at the Music Academy, Technical and Sofia's Universities. In 1996 he created a brand new programme-course on Computer Systems and Technologies in the Music at the New Bulgarian University. His work covers three spheres which supplement each other and influence his development. These are the compositions of music, soundtracks, electronic and computer music studio recording and concert activity. Over the years Simo Lazarov has performed more than 1500 concerts. In recent years he has organized open-air mega concerts which are synthesis of the various arts, attracting large audiences for his contemporary music. Simo Lazarov has released 9 LP, 26 CD's, more than 100 soundtracks over 400 works and 9 books. For 30-th year Anniversary of first Bulgarian Electronic Music Studio was released 30 CDs Special Edition - Anthology of his music. He is a member of Bulgarian and Israeli Composers League and SEAH Czech EA Composers. He has been nominated Bulgaria's Musician of 1995. He has taken part in many electronic and computer music festivals all over Europe and USA. He was co-initiator of the Bulgaria’s Festival for Computer Art and Multimedia. In 1999 he created International Electro-Acoustic, Electronic and Computer Music Forum-Festival Computer Music Space .He has been distingnished at several major world computer music festivals.

High level intensity of deep, emotive ambients. Released in 2002, contains the most beautiful moments of the MCO series. A visual and literary audio film. Impregnating iquid sounds. This recording was released three years after the MCO pack. The evolution of the MCO system is clear, the melodic control is total and Nubla creates a conceptual, intensely descriptive deep piece, impregnated with sea. Composed in hotel rooms in several harbours of Europe, it seems that this music looks intensely towards the sea with the melancholy of someone stranded on land. 中欧・東欧地域の古典打弦楽器ツィンバロム（cimbalom）の名手として知られる、アメリカのマルチ・インストゥルメンタリスト/路上演奏家/創作楽器ビルダー Michael Masley（マイケル・マスリー）。伝統的な撥/ハンマーではなく、鉤爪が逆さになったような弓状のピック「ボウハンマー」での演奏が特徴で、Masleyはその発明者でもあり、スライドやピッキングといった巧みな奏法から古典音楽表現の可能性を広げたと評価されているようです。1985年発表のカセット「Cymbalom Solos」はツィンバロムを主に、カリンバ、ビブラフォン、パンパイプなどの演奏を収録したソロ初作。古雅な趣向とモダンな音響、限りなく宇宙を広げるメディテーショナルなアースフォーク・アンビエンス。プロデュースは、同年にニューエイジ音楽の名門Audionから秀作「Mythos」でデビューしたギター/シンセ奏者のBarry Cleveland（バリー・クリーヴランド）。Barry Cleveland作品をはじめ、元Psychic TVのDavid Michael Buntingによるインダストリアル/ネオフォーク・ユニットCurrent 93などの作品に参加されています。最新作は自作楽器Kalimbalomのソロ演奏。

[Instrument design]
In addition to the bowhammer, Masley has invented several musical instruments or modifications to existing instruments. These tend to be constructed from mass-produced consumer materials, such as rubber bands and suction cups, often coupled to traditional instruments such as drums.
Instruments include:
Water Tuned Glass Panpipes. A set of glass panpipes can be arbitrarily tuned as desired (including modal changes and microtonal increments) by adding water to (or removing from) each pipe. Water is typically added and removed with a turkey baster.
The Kabali, a modified doumbek. A metal doumbek is modified by attaching a piece of PVC pipe to the head via a suction cup. The pipe is used as a bridge supporting sixteen bungee cord strings. The strings may be tuned by use of a spring which circles the instrument below the head. The strings may be played by plucking them (causing them to snap back and hit the drumhead) or by strumming (in which case they resonate), "creating the complex periodicity of an irregular ostinato".[3] The sound has been compared to "multiple cellos strummed with earmuffs".
The Conundrum. This is a modified doumbek which has several suction cups attached to the head. A long rubber band is wound around the suction cups. Tension on the band and placement of the suction cups controls pitch.
The Palmharp. An egg slicer is attached to a small shaker drum. The slicer is strung with rubber bands of various tensions parallel to its wires; both wires and rubber bands are the strings of this instrument. Pitch control is achieved by flexing the slicer frame while strumming or plucking the strings, forming an idiophone. The instrument may be simultaneously shaken. This instrument is primarily "textural"; that is, it is intended to add ambient sounds and rhythms rather than melody or harmony.
