トランプ新政権が発足する2017年1月21日、女性の人権を尊重する政治を求めてワシントンDCで行われる「ウィメンズ・マーチ・オン・ワシントン」。その抗議行動に参加される、ひとりの18歳の女性の旅行資金を支援するファンディング・プロジェクトとして、シカゴのサイケデリック・バンドZelienople（ズィリノポ）のシンガー兼ギタリストMatt Christensen（マット・クリステンセン）が自身のバンドキャンプを通じてリリースした新作。止処なく刻まれるミニマルなリズムにトリッピーなエレクトロニクス、モクモクと煙ったい陶酔的グルーヴが立ち込める異境アフロ・フォーク。

Goathead Crusader returns after a 16 year hiatus. "Leap of Fate" continues in the Crusader's ambient ways, albeit this time with nothing but guitars instead of synthesizers. Highly processed 6-strings co-exist in a psychedelic landscape that drones and pulses. Luis Pérez was born in Mexico City on July 11, 1951. Since 1971 he has dedicated much of his time to the research of pre-Columbian musical instruments. He has traveled over the years all over the countryside of Mexico in order to study the living musical traditions and learn directly from the living sources while collecting samples of musical instruments, music and songs. His collection of native Mexican instruments include archaeological artifacts representative of the different cultural groups in the area known as Mesoamerica, some dating more than 2000 years ago.
His early work while still in Mexico, was a mixture of sounds from his vast array of pre-Columbian and ethnographic wind and percussion instruments which he managed to blend with electronic devices such as; tape based delay units and analog synthezisers; in 1981 his work was heard and described in the U.S. by Archie Patterson as, "perhaps the ultimate fusion of ethnic and modern music, a stunning effect as the two different styles merge superbly into a mystical musical tapestry". Luis simply called it: Musica Experimental Mexicana. During that year the Mexican government became interested in his work and sponsored the production of what came to be the first recording of this type entitled: Ipan In Xiktli Metztli ( En el Ombligo de la Luna ) which made a big impact among the media and established Luis Pérez as a precursor in this field followed by a new generation of Mexican musicians. - Sacred Summits

UKネオアコースティック・サウンドに強く影響を受けたUSインディー・ポップ詩人Jim Raoによるソロ・プロジェクトOrange Cake Mix。本作「Ocean Rainbow」はElefantやDarla等のインディペンデント・レーベルから精力的にリリースを重ねた時期の一枚で、日本盤のみでリリースされた98年作。Maurice DeebankやVini Reilly直系の蒼さを滲ませたギター、Spacemen 3/Spectrum (Sonic Boom)に感化されたファジーなサイケデリア、ブリスフルなベッドルーム・ビーツが編み込まれたハンドメイドのポップ・アンビエントクラフト。「意識の聖なる流れ」「夏の滝」「川の精霊」3部から成る#4 "Water Medley"はさまざまな水辺をイメージした、アルバム中ひと際美しい水の組曲。昨年よりbandcampアカウントを開設し、リリースの少なかった2000年代に録りためた作品をかつてのペースで公開されています。

Orange Cake Mix is the project of Jim Rao, a Connecticut home-made cassettes inspired by the synthetic pop of auteurs such as Todd Rundgren and Brian Eno. As it was often the case with independent artists of the 1990s, Rao was way too prolific for what he had to say, and therefore spread his best material over a huge discography. More Mellow Hits (Elefant) and Grapefruit (1996) are formative works. The instrumental album Silver Lining Underwater (Darla, 1997) offers an intriguing hybrid of synth-pop, kraut-rock and ambient music, but does not fully succeed in fusing those genres. Fluffy Pillow (Darla, 1997) is similar to what Richard Bone has been doing on the other coast but with melancholy vocals (Feel Your Love, Broken Machine). Lovecloud And Secret Tape (Darla, 1997) is a compilation of leftovers from the early years. Blue Island Sound (Darla, 1997) and Another Orange World (Darla, 1998) cannot offer more than tiresome repetitions of the same, simple concept. The mini-album Microcosmic Wonderland (Audio Information Phenomena, 1999), Observations of Tomorrow and Today, and many other CDs and cassettes recycle third-rate synth-pop. Rao makes CDs the way others brush their teeth: unfortunately, the artistic quality is also very similar.

Tonight's Christmas party for Nation Records seems like an odd idea because Christianity is probably the least represented religion here. There are pagans at the bar, sons of Sikhs backstage, daughters of Islam on the dancefloor and rasta rhythms in the bass bin, but carol singers are thin on the ground. On a night where you start off watching a pair of day-glo voodoo dancers and end up listening to a demonstration of the Arabic chromatic scale (apparently) the real celebration is, of course, multiculturalism. Santa would only get in if he was wearing a bindi-dot. Nation's determination to place the golden mongrel of pan-ethnic pop in the mainstream has made it one of the most exciting labels this year, partly because label stars Fun-Da-Mental and Transglobal Underground have made such poerful records. But it's also based on the evidence of the three lesser known bands on show tonight and an audience that embraces everyone from hippy travellers to Japanese business men. Nation will have no trouble staying in credit next year. ZUVUYA are the label's digita cavemen. Their regular body-painted frontman Ju Ju Midget has gone native without leave tonight, so his place is taken by a skeletal figure who murmurs in tongues over the stormy brew of tribal beats and birthing groans emitting from two banks of synths and a didgeridoo. It isn't the most immidiate pop thrill. Almighty jungle pounders like the climatic "Grabbing Nandi By The Horn" should, ideally, be experienced in an Apocalypse Now - type scenario, preferably just before you meet Colonel Kurtz. Their dayglo cave-girl dancers may make their tribal point a little too forcibly, but Zuvuya are exploring a form of extreme dreamtime hypno-pop that might in time yield treasure. - Roger Morton

A band from another time, Ozric Tentacles served as the bridge from '70s cosmic rock to the organic dance and festival culture which came back into fashion during the '90s. Formed in 1983 with a debt to jazz fusion as well as space rock, the band originally included guitarist Ed Wynne, drummer Nick Van Gelder, keyboard player Joie Hinton, bassist Roly Wynne and second guitarist Gavin Griffiths (though Griffiths left in 1984). The Ozrics played in clubs around London, meanwhile releasing six cassette-only albums beginning with 1984's Erpsongs. (All six were later collected on the Vitamin Enhanced box set, despite a threatened lawsuit from the Kellogg's cereal company for questionable artwork.) In 1987, Merv Pepler replaced Van Gelder, and synthesizer player Steve Everett was also added. 
Ozric Tentacles' first major release, the 1990 album Erpland, foreshadowed the crusty movement, a British parallel to America's hippy movement of the '60s. Crusties borrowed the hippies' organic dress plus the cosmic thinking of new agers, and spent most of their time traveling around England to various festivals and outdoor gatherings. The movement fit in perfectly with bands like Ozric Tentacles and the Levellers, and the Ozrics' 1991 album Strangeitude became their biggest seller yet, occasioning a U.S. contract with Capitol. After the British-only Afterswish and Live Underslunky, 1993's Jurassic Shift hit number 11 on the British charts -- quite a feat for a self-produced album released on the Ozrics' own Dovetail label. The album was released in America by I.R.S. Records, as was 1994's Arborescence. Neither album translated well with American audiences -- despite the band's first U.S. tour in 1994 -- and Ozric Tentacles returned to its Dovetail label for 1995's Become the Other. Waterfall Cities closed out the decade in 1999, and the following summer the group resurfaced with Swirly Termination. Hinton and Pepler also perform in the trance-techno outfit Eat Static, and have released several albums on Planet Dog Records. Ozric Tentacles surfaced in 2000 to release Hidden Step, followed by the EP Pyramidion. In 2002, Live at the Pongmasters Ball came out on both CD and DVD, making it their first venture into the latter. ~ John Bush, All Music Guide

Patricio Panussis guitarrista de los Sacros es uno de los precursores del sonido New Age en Chile. Autoprodujo una serie de discos que se distribuian en sus presentaciones en vivo e incluso grabo para el sello Satori especializado en este estilo y con distribucion mundial. Panussis ha participado en diversos proyectos aparte de Sacros, toco guitarra electrica en el primer disco de Amerindios y fue el el fundador guitarrista y compositor de algunos temas del grupo Miel. Aca esta acompañado del tecladista Christian Melendez. Para los amantes del New Age aca esta el disco doble editado en el 2000. Como novedad el tema "Pehuen del desierto" corresponde a "Goodbye" el tema con que los Sacros ganaron cuanto festival de la cancion se organizo en los setentas.
