浮遊感に満ちたギターのフレーズループで幕を開け、緻密なリズムワークに鍵盤やサックスが折り重なるレフトフィールドなジャズ/クロスオーバー、Michael MayoやJulia Easterlinをフィーチャーしたアトモスフェリックなボーカル曲、さらには短いインタールード的なミニマル小品まで。Ramirez自身の旅の記憶や心象描写が投影されたノスタルジックなサウンドスケープが静かに広がっていきます。全21分というコンパクトな構成ながら、緩急自在なトラックの満ち引きが心地よく、一年通して移動中や仕事中に何度も繰り返し耳を傾けた1枚です。
Diego Joaquin Ramirez AKA Estratos is an Irish-born drummer and composer based in NY. Known for his vibrant sound, versatility and effortless groove, he has worked with a wide range of world-class artists, including Marc Cary, Carrtoons, Melanie Charles, Kiefer, Jeremy Pelt, and Wayne Tucker. He has performed on world-renown stages such as NPR Tiny Desk, The Blue Note, and The Kennedy Center.
