激しい雨の日に聴いた金属製パイプの音を着想源に、シンバルやアルミ製ダストボックス、ペイント缶など、さまざまな金属素材に雨水をあてて録音（雨音変換バリエーション）。それらを雨音モノとしてまとめた3枚組の大作。作者のジャンクノイズ作家/イラストレーターNobuo Yamadaは、水を「音を発生させるための動力原理」として捉え、対象物によって音色を変える雨は、素材の質感を浮き立たせる「バチ」の役割を果たしています。ランダムな雨だれが引き起こす金属的な現象即興 WP#1、台所の蛇口からさまざまな容器へ細く水を垂らし振動を与えた WP#2、風呂場のシャワーを素材としながらも水のナチュラルな質感がほとんど感じられない WP#3。水の音を用いた作品の中でも、類を見ないほどパーカッシブなノイズ/音響。よく聴くと、雨音に混じって近くを通る車の音が紛れ込んでいたり、すべて自宅というパーソナルな場所で採取されたこれらの音には、作者の生活圏の気配（サウンドスケープ）がかすかに漂っているようにも感じられます。
Inspired by the sound of metal pipes on a rainy day, this monumental three-disc collection explores "rain-sound conversion." Junk noise artist and illustrator Nobuo Yamada recorded rainwater striking various metal objects, from cymbals and aluminum bins to paint cans. Yamada treats water as a "kinetic principle for sound generation," where the rain acts as a mallet (beater) that draws out the unique textures of each material. WP#1 features metallic improvisations triggered by random raindrops; WP#2 captures vibrations from water dripping into kitchen containers; and WP#3 utilizes a shower to create a soundscape where the "natural" quality of water is almost entirely erased. These are singularly percussive noise compositions. Listen closely, and you’ll hear the faint intrusion of passing cars—a reminder that these sounds were captured within the artist's own home, embedding the soundscape of his daily life into the recording.
