「ケルンの深い針葉樹林」「木漏れ日が綺麗な蜘蛛の巣をぬけた」「夜と朝のあいだの、薄青い時間」「誰もいない学校の体育館」。───これらの言葉は、本作リリース時に他のアーティストやライターたちが寄せたコメントから一部抜粋したものです。既成のジャンルやタームをなるべく避け、それぞれに思う風景や出来事を重ねながら、この作品の不思議な魅力に触れようとしている。それがなんだかとても納得がいきます。エレクトロニックとアコースティック。都市と自然。冷たさと温かさ。音響派以降の繊細な感性が、何かと何かの間にある最も平穏な場所にぽつんと浮いている。本作「Sketch」は、涼音堂茶舗の中心的ユニットsnoweffectのメンバーである竹村理明が、ソロプロジェクトcinq（サンク）名義で発表した1stアルバム。リリース元は、MIDI Creative傘下で「日常のための音楽」をコンセプトに立ち上げられたnoble。公式ページはいまも当時の空気のまま残されています。
“Deep coniferous forests in Cologne.” “Sunlight filtering through a beautiful spiderweb.” “The pale blue hour between night and morning.” “An empty school gymnasium.” — These fragments are taken from comments by artists and writers at the time of the album’s release. It feels only natural that they chose to avoid conventional genres, reaching instead for personal landscapes to describe the mysterious allure of this music. Electronic and acoustic. Urban and natural. Cold and warm. A delicate post-digital sensibility floats quietly in the serene space between one thing and another.
Sketch is the debut solo album by Masaaki Takemura (a member of the unit snoweffect) under the name cinq. It was released on noble, a sub-label of MIDI Creative dedicated to “music for everyday life.” Even today, the official website remains, capturing the same atmosphere of those early days.
