Brian Enoの初期ソロ作品に触発され、80年代前半にインディペンデント・シーンで活動したインストゥルメンタル・ミニマル/シンセウェイヴ・アクトDelay Tacticsのメンバーであり、自身のレーベルMultiphaseを拠点に、現在まで演奏活動を続けている特殊ギター奏者Carl Weingarten（カール・ヴァインガルテン）。「Windfalls」（風で落ちた果物＝たなぼたの意）は、Gale Ormiston（ゲイル・オルミストン: Synth）とPhil Neon（フィル・ネオン: Guitar）を交えたエレクトロニクスによる風景トレースの習作「Submergings」に続き、Gale Ormistonとの共同名義で発表された83年作。全体の質感は、シンセやテープループ、ロング・サスティンのリバースギターを多用したFripp & Eno的音響作品であった前作を踏襲したものですが、より多彩な奏法を駆使しながら、アウトフォーカスなタッチで自然風景を描写した7トラックを収録。A1, B2にはDelay Tacticsの同輩David Udellがギター/ピアノ参加。本作の後、Delay Tacticsのもう一人のメンバーでシンセ担当のWalter Whitneyとの共同名義で「Dreaming In Colors」「Primitive Earth」2作品が発表されています。

Carl Weingarten is an American guitarist, photographer, and founder of the independent music label Multiphase Records. Regarded as "one of the truly great indie musicians working today" by the San Francisco Chronicle,[1] he is best known for his atmospheric sound and use of the slide guitar and Dobro. Weingarten has played a significant role in progressive[disambiguation needed] underground music for nearly 30 years, recording several solo and collaborative instrumental albums and signing various musicians to his label.
// Weingarten founded Multiphase Records in St. Louis in 1980. The following year, he released its first album, Submergings, in collaboration with Dale Ormiston and Phil Neon. That same year gave birth to Weingarten's instrumental synth rock band Delay Tactics. The group, featuring Walter Whitney on synths and guitarists David Udell and Reed Nesbit, took heavy influence from Robert Fripp and served as more of a recording unit than live act. They were, however, among the first of such indie groups to use digital delays in both studio recordings and live looping performances. With two albums under their belt, the group disbanded in 1986. Miereanu studied from 1960 to 1966 at the Music Academy of Bucharest with Alfred Mendelsohn, Dan Constantinescu, and Lazar Octavian Cosma, and later at the École des Hautes Études et Sciences Sociales, at the Schola Cantorum, and at the University of Paris VIII, where he was awarded first prizes in writing, analysis, music history, esthetics, orchestration, and composition) and earned a Doctor of Letters and a Doctor of Musical Semiotics. Between 1967 and 1969 he was a student of Karlheinz Stockhausen, György Ligeti, and Ehrhard Karkoschka at the Internationale Ferienkurse für neue Musik in Darmstadt (Cosma 2001). In 1977 he became a French citizen. Since 1981 he has been Professor of Philosophy, Aesthetics, and the Science of Art at the Sorbonne.Miereanu evolved his compositional style featuring a sensuous sonic fabric by combining of Satie's techniques with an abstraction of Romanian traditional music (Cosma 2001). Dionysis Boukouvalas is a Greek composer. He is active mainly in concert music, but recently in popular music too, having set to music poetry by C.P. Cavafy and others. He holds the diplomas of Harmony, Counterpoint and Fugue (all with mention "A") and a diploma from the Department of Musical Studies of the University of Athens (witn mention "A"). On 2007 he completed his Master’s course at the university "Paris 8", under the supervision of Anne Sedes (dealing with the element of chance in music), having followed the composition "atelier" of the Spanish composer José Manuel López López. NOWAMUZYKA:  Żyjemy w takich czasach, że nie trzeba siedzieć w jednym pokoju, aby wejść w muzyczny dialog. Czasem bywa tak, że na odległość powstają lepsze kompozycje od tych, które są wynikiem realnego spotkania. Pomysł na utworzenie kolektywu Cloud Ensemble zrodził się w grudniu 2013 roku, kiedy to Grzegorz Bojanek zagrał wspólny koncert z Michelem Banabilą w krakowskiej Alchemii podczas festiwalu Re:source. Pod nazwą Cloud Ensemble ukrywa się siedmiu artystów pochodzących z różnych stron świata (USA, Holandia, Polska oraz Trynidad i Tobago). W składzie formacji pojawili się tacy twórcy jak All n4tural (wokal), Michel Banabila (ebow, gitara, field recording), Grzegorz Bojanek (sample, field recording), Oene van Geel (skrzypce, skrzypce Stroha), Radboud Mens (glass sounds, dopplo, treatments), Yuko Parris (śpiew, fortepian) i Rutger Zuydervelt (organy Philicorda) znany jako Machinefabriek. Niespełna kilka dni temu grupa Cloud Ensemble na stronie Bandcamp opublikowała swoją debiutancką EP-kę. Materiał można nabyć w postaci dziesięciocalowego winyla. Minialbum otwiera wyborna kompozycja „Here and There”, gdzie wokal Yuko Parris, a szczególnie jego barwa, bardzo przypomina mi głos japońskiej artystki Sanae Yamasaki (aka Moskitoo). Ten utwór z jeden strony ma coś w sobie z klimatu nagrań duetu No-Man, a z drugiej – mógłby spokojnie znaleźć się w katalogu wytwórni 12k. W numerze „Hide and Seek” poznajemy nieco inne oblicze projektu Cloud Ensemble. Muzycy zawędrowali w okolice twórczości Portishead (delikatny trip-hopowy rytm) oraz tria Jansen/Barbieri/Karn (elektroniczne wstawki basowych pochodów) z czasów ich albumu „ISM”. Nastrój wycisza się wraz z kompozycją „Silent World”, której najbliżej do „Trenów” Jacaszka i muzyki filmowej Clinta Mansella. EP-ka „Cloud Ensemble” jest swobodną wypowiedzią kilku artystów, którym udało się stworzyć zajmujący i również przejmujący materiał. Muzyka Cloud Ensemble jest emocjonalna, ale w żaden sposób nie kojarzy się z patetycznym klimatem. Warto zauważyć, iż EP-ka bardzo dobrze wypada pod względem spójnego brzmienia. Ciężko uwierzyć, że ten minialbum nie został nagrany podczas wspólnej sesji w studiu nagraniowym. Grupa Cloud Ensemble zaprezentowała świeże spojrzenie na ambient i elektronikę z udziałem żywych instrumentów. Twórcy z powodzeniem weszli w porozumienie i wypada tylko czekać na długogrający krążek.
